Installation instructions for RPP S&W 1854 G2 Handguard
- Be sure the rifle is unloaded.
- Remove the mag tube by twisting at cap and withdrawing from handguard.
- Remove the handguard end cap by turning out the two retaining screws.
- Remove the factory handguard by pulling it away from the barrel.
- Install the RPP handguard onto the rifle by inserting the flange end into the receiver and then tilting the part upward toward the barrel, with the mounting holes lined up with the tenon holes.
- Install both mounting screws with one each of the two remaining oval washers underneath. Orient the oval washers so that the offset hole is nearer the bottom of the handguard. Use a low strength thread lock.
- Install both mounting screws with one each of the two remaining oval washers underneath. Orient the oval washers so that the offset hole is nearer the bottom of the handguard. Use a low strength thread lock.
- Install both mounting screws with one each of the two remaining oval washers underneath. Orient the oval washers so that the offset hole is nearer the bottom of the handguard. Use a low strength thread lock.
- Install both mounting screws with one each of the two remaining oval washers underneath. Orient the oval washers so that the offset hole is nearer the bottom of the handguard. Use a low strength thread lock.
- Again using low strength thread lock, install all four set screws, two at the angled receiver-end points, and two at the lateral points above each mounting screw. Use light torque only to keep the handguard from shifting.
